The overall relative increase in donor exposures with the use of pooled platelet concentrates was similar in the two institutions (43% in Germany and 45% in Canada). The highest relative increase in donor exposures was 88% and 60%, respectively, and was observed in patients receiving fewer than 10 transfusions.
